HOW LEBENSKLEIDUNG CAME ABOUT

HOW LEBENSKLEIDUNG CAME ABOUT

The idea for Lebenskleidung originated in 2008 when the founders Enrico and Ben were spending a semester abroad. In India, they experienced the working conditions in the textile industry firsthand.
It quickly became clear: the way textiles are produced cannot and must not continue. This realization led to the creation of Lebenskleidung – with the aim of making sustainable fabrics available by the meter and communicating them transparentl

LEBENSKLEIDUNG TODAY

Today, Lebenskleidung looks back on over 15 years of experience in the textile industry. During this time, we have learned to question processes, correct mistakes, and improve our offerings.
to develop it further consistently. Today we work in a more focused, economically conscious and service-oriented way than before. Instead of producing ever larger quantities for stock, we are increasingly focusing on demand-driven production, group orders and deadstock fabrics. Our aim is to use resources responsibly – both ecologically and economically.

The team behind Lebenskleidung

Benjamin Itter (Management & Production)

Benjamin conceived the idea for Lebenskleidung (Lebenskleidung) during his time in South India in the early 2000s, where he first became aware of the scale of the global textile industry. He studied German literature, political science, and human geography and lived in Denmark and India for several years. Today, in addition to managing the company, he is also responsible for production management for various brands, teaches at AMD Berlin, and is a regular speaker at international conferences. Ben subscribes to the philosophy of Jiddu Krishnamurti: "It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society."

Nadja Voigt (Marketing & Customer Service)

Nadja studied literature, French, and philosophy before meeting Ben at a release party in 2016 – and has been writing lyrics for Lebenskleidung at a rapid pace ever since. Newsletter, blog, social media, webshop: she can really let her creativity flow. Besides marketing, she also handles customer service and partner relations. In her spare time, she volunteers as a German teacher and musically bridges the gap between Italo-pop and hard techno.

Jeanette Jungbluth (Sourcing & Customer Service)

Jeanette is a trained fashion seamstress and holds a degree in clothing technology (Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences). She started at Lebenskleidung as an intern and quickly became indispensable, to the point that no one could imagine life without her. She is responsible for quality management, customer service, and GOTS recertification. In her free time, she loves sewing beautiful fabrics into trendy garments – when she's not immersed in art history.

DISCOVERING TOGETHER

We are looking for customers and partners who think sustainably and innovatively, communicate openly and are willing to develop solutions together.

There is no perfect product – but there are many good decisions.

If our attitude aligns with your values, we look forward to continuing together.
